I think my sensor may need a clean.

Lovely images Hans! You have a great vista from your porch! The 7 stitch is a ripper - great drama. All good colour wise, very appealing. 37° here today!
Just a dust bunny on the sensor. Check it out using another lens before cleaning it. If it's the sensor, use a blower first before anything wet

In the process of blowing the dust off the sensor I think I discovered a dead pixel. The dust is gone as it was next to it but you wouldn't notice the single pixel. The blower got rid of the bunny.

Remove the lens and put the lens cap on. Then do a manual sensor clean via the menu. I should map out the dead pixel/s and you wont see it anymore.

I will follow that up. Lost that cap the other day would you believe the cover that goes on the EF lens adaptor that screws in the camera will not fit the camera. I will modify it so it does. Wonder what the idea behind that is?

They just said put the lenscap on. But I have modified the cap. There are 3 lands on the bayonet fitting They have made one of them longer on the R model. No luck with the pixel sofar

It is still there. I also noticed a second spot to the right. Now convinced they must be dust bunnies. Wonder if it needs a good scrub? I do have swabs and have not used them yet. Also have isopropyl alcohol and have looked up a couple of how to's. Have not found a reference as to how much pressure you place on the swab.

Definitely are dust bunnies Hans. I've had the same and just a medium pressure to clean. I got a VSGO Cleaning Kit kit that is designed for my APS-C sensor and they work perfectly. You would get the full frame one of course! Here's a quick vid on how it's done.

As the dust is not visable normally I'm not to fussed. It would be in the top LH corner in the sky sectionYou can see where I have had to tie up the roses after loosing a couple of branches from the wind. They obviously enjoyed the winter rest and are going crazy.

Landscape perfectionism in all its glory Hans. Fantastic shot. It needs to be on the wall ASAP. How wide was the lens?

Have to confess. That is a 3x2 crop from a zoomed in picture taken with the Samsung s20 mobile phone. Data says 7mm at F1.8 1.78 digital zoom. By the time I got the camera the picture was no longer there.

ID:	474442 Plus I think the phone does a better job unless you get multiple shots for HDR to get the dynamic range. Best of the camera shots here.

Still a good pic to play with Hans. I think the phones are going to take over. I don't know why the big camera makers don't "borrow some of their technology - it doesn't seem to take up much space
