One of the wonderful things about Oz is the 'miles & miles' of clean sandy beaches alongside lovely blue waters that we have. Not only "have" but we can access easily and free of cost
GJ - been there too ~ I was surprised recently to read that the gold? mine there is still operational and the town's largest employer
Your pic above reminds me of the 'brutal starkness' of so many mining towns
I have always liked this type of effect John. Sort of like High Key that includes the darker parts as well. Good work. Do you still have the workflow floating around in the old grey matter?

In ACR I maxed out the black and white and upped the contrast a tad.
In CC2020 I copied the background layer (just in case) and created a B/W adjustment layer where I pulled back the Cyan and Blue quite a bit and the Magenta just a tad. Sorry for being vague but I don't remember the original values.
Lovely image John. That was an interesting read about that tree. TFS. The only tree photo I have that is documented as significant is the huge gum tree in the Adelaide Hills that housed the Herbig Family back in the 1850's. What a fantastic story HERE if you read it.
Tall tree John. The sky is really dark blue, what causes that? Plenty of tall trees in our southwest especially the karri trees. You've now inspired to measure the height of some of the trees in our park.
That's a huge tree tree John. We're the biggest state so I guess we should have the biggest trees!
Here's the sky fix for the ghost gum. It would be much better with the original sized image.
