  • C-19 lockdown makes it hard- but here are some images from my archives

    G'day All

As you all know already, from April 2020, Australia is in "informal lockdown" with travel restrictions imposed by the federal and state governments. It makes it nearly impossible to travel and for me, the love of photography will be harder to fulfill ~ but with care, I can still walk around my home district.

So I intend to brighten this forum with images from my archives ... and I encourage others here to do the same

Hope this helps bring a smile to your day
    Phil

    Barrel Racing at a rodeo

The contestants push their horses around a figure-8 course as fast as they can without touching a barrel or losing control of the horse

Great place to get some action shots. Surprised at the depth of field in this one.

When it was commissioned back in 2003-4 this wind farm was Australia's largest wind farm with 63 turbines. Today there are larger facilities to be found across the country
This image was taken from the viewing area about 1-1/2km away from the turbines

    2009, Panny FZ-30, 1/4sec exposure at sunrise

Fabulous colours in this Phil. It's a great source for power. We even have some in WA producing 499 MW.
Your neck of the woods is producing 1342 MW from 634 turbines. Another 603 turbines are either under construction or approved which will add another 4335 MW. Just FYI

She's a lot bigger than he is! More commonly known as golden silk orb-weavers. Lovely image Phil. Good colour and detail - good framing to include the gentleman in the background.
