G'day Hans
This pic has a certain stark-beauty to it - I find the top 2/3 very striking

I think both have merit Hans. The edits make them look miles apart. It's great to see you experimenting! How did you do the edits?I Shoot A Canon

Very similar The centre was seperated from the relections and lighter sky and was lightened using screen blend another layer was used for the sky and reflection This layer was masked hide all and brushed in the sky geting about 3 brush coats at about 20% the reflection one. This was than flattened despeckled and sharpened at .3 pixels at 500%. The biggest difference between the two is I did a better masking job in the warmer version and also the apply image on the sky was multiply in the warm and a more severe form of that in the other which was not brushed but sklightly reduced with the layers opacity. This was taken in 2016 with the smaller C image processor.Better a full bottle in front of me
than a full frontal lobotomy.

It just offered to restore previous content so it wiped out my reply. Better luck next time. The essence was That the sky and reflection were done after the middle was ligtened a little by CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+E Then loading saved selection. Applied the image to the section at 100% Adding a mask and painting in the sky more than the reflection.
I looked for the PSD but I didn't save this one. You can see I spent a bit more tim on creating the selection in the warmer one. I have a series from there I may do another later. I have posted a different one here before as well.Better a full bottle in front of me
than a full frontal lobotomy.

Thanks Hans, it must have taken a while to type out the tut. I used to play a lot with "Apply Image" but only sparingly now - I prefer luminosity masks.I Shoot A Canon
