Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

Very dramatic Hans and a massive tree! I love the framing. Just me, but I'd crop a bit off the top. A great photo to practice "Sky Replacement" with

I agree and it took a fair bit of manipulation to get the above from this original. What about the fence posts? Do you mind them?

It's still a great shot. Being me, I'd remove all extra bits except the tree and then give the sky a makeover. The bits of tree on both sides is distracting so you did good there. The rubbish on the horizon should go as well. Do your thing with it HAns, it's all a learning curve

Those big old Figs make great subjects and I like your treatment of it,have to agree about trimming the top,I`d lose about 2/3 of it.I don`t mind the fence posts or clutter around the tree, helps set the mood IMO.

Thanks Kevin I do agree with you about the farm discards on the horizon. My wife likes the first one with the darker sky. I like the sunset sky and the dramatic appearance but wonder if I've gone to far.?

You've shown that anything can be done with some imagination Hans. I love your edit. I'm a real fan of sky replacement and you pulled this off well. Good colour matching of the sky onto the tree - congratulations. PS, nothing like the edit I did

Thanks Isac. You gotta show me yours since I showed you mine! The last layer I made a solid orange sampled from the sky then used a mask and layer transparency. I put it on Viewbug and it was an instant success.

My attempt was not good Hans. I did a sunset one as well!! The image was too small to get a good cut-out of the tree though. BUT here's yours for the wall like Kev suggested

Sylvia (supreme commander) likes your choice of colours. Does look good in that frame.
I aided the selection By using lightness in lab mode and cranking up the contrast.
I should be good at this in a few more years

Thanks Hans. Yeah the one in post #3. Around 4000 px (10MB) would be OK. Wow 30MB, is there a reason why you have them so large?

When I convert to jpg I save them at max and one at 1024 The one at 1024 I use here or on the net or possibly a slide show. The ones I use for the book need to be bigger and have a bit more contrast etc.
