Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

I'm loving seeing your travel images Hans, so jealous. Loving the first two especially #2.
Do you mind if I have a little play with it to lift the shadows and try and reduce the blown out area in the top?

      Hey Hans
#1 is a mix of new and old world with the the cafe strip mixed with an ATM and split system air con. Unsure if the mix works.
#2 could definitely do with a shadows and highlights adjustment as mentioned. The location of the pigeons is a shame as they cover the riders head.
#3 I think is the most complete image. Could also do with a shadow lift.

Go your hardest Grumpy. I agree with you Toddy but see #1 a bit differently and am quite happy with the mix of new and old as I am probably looking at it with a different perspective. I am not working under the greatest conditions and look forward to having a good go at this early morning shot of the Duoro river.

Always hard when traveling Hans. I always wait until I get home to do serious editing.
          Lovely image all the same.

That's a nice scene Hans. Little overblown in the background

It really was very light in the background. The foreground being in shadow.

I was able to lift the shadows, but I couldn't do much about the blown out area.
As toddy mentioned, shame about the pigeons flying up into the scene.

I'm really liking your images from Portugal Hans. It looks as though you could spend a month there and not run out of beautiful scenery to photograph.

You could spend a lot more than that. I have been before and can think about doing the Duoro area again by train/car .

I'm loving all your photos Hans. Can't wait to see your edited versions once you get home. I can now see the man on the motorbike after removing that photo-bombing bird and he looks pleased to see you. Added a bit more detail in the blown parts at the top just for fun.
