Wow, that is an awesome sky Jules, looks very threatening. You guys in the island state could do with some rain, as could we mainlanders down south.

Thanks and yes we have had 0.4 of a mliilmetre for the whole of January. The fires are still bad all over. My house has had almost no smoke free days since shortly after Christmas. Thursday there is finally some rain coming hopefully that will check the fires.

I can only imagine how bad it must be Jules. We're starting to get the smoke from your fires drifting into Victoria.

Very dramatic image Jules. What is the tower ?

I wish I could send you guys some of our rain, we have had enough.
          Cheers, Brad.

Well, how about that I hope it puts out those bushfires.
Not all of it went, I tipped out 101mm from the rain gauge this morning, and still drizzling now.
Had a lot of wind last night, one of the bigger trees along my creek came down

That is the Telecommunications tower on Mt Wellington. Covers TV, mobile, internet everything except rdaio which has it's own tower.
I know you guys are getting badwith the flooding. My sister lives just out of Innisfail and has been copping a lot.

Yes we got some good rain last night. 20 mm and another 5 mm this morning. Unfortunately the Huon/Geeveston fires south of Hobart only got half of that but it helped. The Central Highlands and the SW National Park Fires got a lot more upto nearly 100 mm.
