  • Not a Plan in the Desert

In the Gibson Desert I pulled over and snuck up the back of a sand dune to photograph some camels. walking back down the dune I saw this and liked the look of it. It's really a nothing image but appeals to me.

It's a different world out there Todd and you capture the essence of it very well. I wish we had the luxury vehicles of today when I was last there! I'm interested to know why you used a lot of negative space for your 4WD in #1.

Thanks Greg. I just liked how small it looked against the landscape. Really creates that sense of vastness.

Thanks Todd. You really have to see it to experience the grand scale of it all. I guess we are the lucky ones.

Captures the colours and textures of the country very well.. The first image is rather ordinary but has a certain appleal I can't explain. I would like to see the tree on the left further from the edge.I like the camel shots too

Thanks Alan. I 100% agree. It's a very nothing image but for some reason I like it.
Honestly I didn't really take the time to even consider composition. Just stopped and thought that's not a bad view. Better capture that quickly.

Yeah does look a little overcooked there Phil but thanks for trying something. Might be a happy medium somewhere.

In between? Only a slight colour adjustment (sky a bit more), moved the tree that wigz mentioned and turned the car around. Just mucking about today, raining!!!

Thanks Greg. Turning the car around makes the biggest difference I think. Really opens the image up.

I have got a friend who owns a few Camels and a few the same colours as your ones.
Have to say they are not my favourite animal.
But thats not the point I like your shot which is the point.
