Time has come again to find a cover for my anual album/book. It will be the same 8x10 portrait format again.
Did not work removed numbers.

Yes me too. That was a fair bit of time wasted. There was a page of thumbnails at the end of entrees which I deleted. I presume that I should not have done so.

I can think of reasons to include any of them. Since they have some emotional attachment colouring my selection I appreciate your input. As the images will appear inside the book this attachment will not be lost. I am sure that they will assist in remembering some great trips.

Do you have any wording on the cover Hans? Maybe you could post a couple of shots of previous books so we can get an idea of your thought process

Here are the last four years. Showing a tremendous lack of imagination. They are not particularly arty more like a photo album.


You may remember the supertrees in Singapore from last year. I also did an Africa book as well during the year so this didn't get too large.

Lovely work on those covers Hans. Would there be anything stopping you from doing a collage type cover. I could do something up for you as a sample of what I mean, using the images you posted.

No not at all. That is a good Idea I have done some before but it didnt occur to do one as a cover.

I have managed to miss that television show snap happy for every episode. Don't normally watch TV through the day or that channel Will have a go at Snapfish when I get a minute ++

Hey Hans, they have invented a cool gadget which you can record TV shows on and watch them whenever you want!! I think they are called DVD Recorders which is stupid, they should be called TV Recorders

Would you believe I have all that stuff. I did record MotoGP But missed the last bit and didn't see Rossi fall off due to rain extending the race time.

#4 would be my pick for a cover.

Thanks Brad. It does tell a story of being a tourist. It is also different in as much that we have as yet not had a figure on the cover.

If you want to play with the film strips, let me know and I'll put them on my website and give you a download link. They are MOCKUPS so you only have to drag in the images and it's done.

Thats so much better. There was no restriction on just portrait format either not that that matters a lot, it just increases the choices of images available. I would love to have a play with the film strips this will allow a greater choice of samples from the album.

If you want to blend images, only use 3-4. Less messy. Here's another method that uses "Prints" distributed over the cover with a gradient fill BG done using the "Difference" mode. Just click-drag-drop anywhere on the layer for cool and different effects. I'm just finishing off a Polaroid MOCKUP as well. If you're interested I will finish that off too - just say the word!

What is a Polaroid Mockup?

It's just a type of overlay of an old polaroid picture frame that puts your own photo in to it. I'll show you when I finish the mockup.

Trouble with a comment is that it doesn't show the last response.

Do you mean the "Comment" sections on AP Hans? In this thread, post #7 only shows 4 Comments but there is actually 7 Comments. They are all numbered as 7.1 - 7.2 - 7.3 etc. If you click the arrow as shown it will display the other Comments.
