Not bad Ross. The highlights in the front right draw my eye, which does tend to stop the jetty from becoming a leading line. Can you turn those down a little?

Better I think Ross. I see you've turned up the shadows too which allows more of the underside of the jetty to be visible.
That first post still stands out to me so I cropped it out. I hope that's OK.

Ross, I agree with Toddy that the light on the jetty is distracting. Very nice composition and beautiful colours in the sky and background, but to me the bright harsher light on the jetty tends to take over the image.

Toddy & Wigz thanks. I too liked the first image best & to be honest didn't notice the distraction until it was pointed out. It is so much better with the first post cropped out. Bloody hell so much to learn. Thanks again guys

No worries Ross. We're all here to learn.

I think that's an excellent photo Ross! I do however agree with the comments about the brightness of the jetty structure and reflections taking over the image. BUT there is a fix and that's to lessen the glare and replace the front of the posts with timber to match the rest of the jetty. I haven't cropped at all, just did the posts and glare. And darkened the clouds a tad.

When I first looked at the original in post #1, I liked it, but as the others said, the posts are a bit overpowering. I really like what Isac has done with his edit.
What was lighting the jetty up like that?
              Cheers, Brad.
