Yep I'm a sucker for them too. Both interesting shots but #1 tends to blend in a bit too much with the background.

I'm with you on the tree fascination Todd. It amazes me how they end up with some really odd shapes. We have paper barks at our lake which look very deformed indeed.

You've gotta love the tenacity of anything that grows in the Australian outback. Any crack, or patch of dirt and they'll set root and start growing.
