Better a full bottle in front of me

I've heard Namibia is a photographers dream.

    Those dune shots confirm.

    Stunning, just stunning.

They are pretty slow so I can handle them.

You're a funny man Hans! These shots are just breathtaking and you should be very proud of yourself. You've got a good eye for the unusual and it shows in these masterpieces.

To kind. But I am happy to come home with some pictures that I like. It would be a disappointment if you weren't happy with the memories you created. A big plus is that these pictures keep giving pleasure as they do the pictures of most (all) people who share their pictures here.

Absolutely stunning shots of the dunes Hans. If you have Netflix at home check out a series titled Tales of Light, particularly Season 2 Episode 6, Life and Death Pt. 2 It features Namibia as photographed by Stephen Dupont. The whole series is fantastic, obviously sponsored by Canon as that it the only brand of camera you will see.

On the road at the moment but will have a look at that for sure. i would even consider going back to namibia and renting a vehicle just to take a few more pictures.

You certainly get to some out of the way places Hans. Do you travel alone, or go on organised tours? The reason I ask is that my wife and I try and do 2 cruises a year and we always do as many of the shore excursions as possible. The trouble is that I find the organised shore excursions very restrictive on my photography as they are quite rushed. I feel that I come back with nothing more than the average tourist "happy snaps".

We, my wife and i, we do both organised tours and also do our own. this one was an organised one. i like cruises to indicate places of interest as well. We have been on cruises and organised our own taxi tours at better rates than those from the cruise ship. Having a few in the pipeline as well ;.) but you are right you usually have to be be back before the good photography hours. Just have to keep trying i suppose.

We pigged out this year and did 3 cruises, so nothing till next year when we will do a back to back. A repositioning cruise from Rome to Southampton, then Southampton - Cork - Liverpool - Belfast - Reykjavik (overnight) - Akureyri - Geiranger - Flam - Amsterdam - Brussels - Southampton. Really looking forward to that one.
