  • Peace and tranquility

Gara Gorge, such a peaceful place. Originally dammed to run one of the first hydro electric power stations in Australia to feed power for the Hillgrove mine. The mine started in 1876 mining Antimony and gold. It closed in 1920 and reopened in 1937. It was purchased in later years by a Hong Kong based company, Meridian Capital, but was closed again in December 2015 putting 106 workers out of a job right on Christmas.

Nice composition Lloyd and certainly portrays that peaceful feeling. Do you have a shot of the dam itself?

Definitely a peaceful place Lloyd. Little too much shadow on the edges for me. Could benefit from a slight crop of these I think.

Funny how we all see things differently isn't it? I love the dark parts on the edges. To me it gives a nice natural vignette and helps frame the image. Maybe lighten the sides up a bit that's all though.
