  • Simpson desert after good rains

The Simpson is a very special place, I loved the palette of colour here; the dead tree, the small grey plants on the reddish dunes and the shadows and the endless track with it's promise of plenty more eye candy to come.

Be back that way next year I hope, maybe this year if I get lucky. Only crossed the Simpson once and that's just not enough.

Brilliant Mick. Captures exactly what the Simmo is all about. Life and death and the traveler moseying through.

      Thanks Todd.

Did plenty of research before this trip, looked at hundreds of images and dozens of youtube vids but nothing prepared me for the sheer beauty of the Simpson. The other deserts ain't too shabby either...and I know I'm preaching to the choir here mate. Might bump into you out there somewhere one day.

Yes! As I was processing this image I realized I'd missed a great opportunity there for some close up stuff. Well spotted good sir

I've only flown over it from a great height as well. A real eye opener for us city dwellers! (Bush not far away in Tassie though)

Colours are amazing Mick. Bit too far away for m though so I'll just view your great images and pretend I'm there.

Just beautiful Mick, I haven't done the Simpson yet but it is on the bucket list!
