  • The Breakaways

30 kms outside Coober Pedy this morning.

Would have looked spectacular with last night's sunset - sigh - can't be everywhere...

Lots more photos, but I'll have to save processing until I get home. Silly to be sitting in a van for hours.

    Ah Alan ...

You make me drool with these 2 images ... better than mine from a few years ago
Love the pano format with the beaut use of near foreground to emphasise the depth
    10/10 for each of them

      Thanks Phil.

      Landscape Photography 101

I talked to a couple who did the bus sunset tour the day before and and they showed me a couple of their phone photos that they took and I don't think I missed that much as the clouds weren't above the most interesting part of the landscape, unlike this morning

I showed them mine and got a few oohs and ahhs.

It seems most people don't know how to get the best out of their phones. Do cover that in your courses?

      Thanks for dropping by again

Great photos Alan. It looks like there has been some earthworks out there in the last 3.5 year.

          Maybe just a different POV?

Doesn't look like any earthworks have happened - lots of signs around asking people to respect this sacred area.

I don't think the trail bike rider doing a few circuits could read though

From a different spot - looks like the same little gully, just further up?

What a difference light/timing and interesting sky can make

Ah yep that looks like a similar angle. My photo was my old 12mp point and shoot thing. Certainly not a brilliant camera but was waterproof which was key requirement for me back then.

Nice perspective! Great photos. Also saw some areal shots a couple of day ago taken by a novice that had me jealous. I have promised myself to do better next time!
