Thanks Bill. The iPhone is very good - but it doesn't like shooting into the sun. Some Photo-shopping is involved to get the results you see here.
These are straight out of the camera. Also bear in mind that my phone is in a waterproof case (Lifeproof), so the camera is shooting through a clear plastic membrane which doesn't get cleaned of salt anywhere near enough.
You probably know that you can select the point of focus by touching the screen at that point, and you can also adjust the exposure by moving the exposure slider on the right of the focus box up and down. I may have done that on these shots. I also kept my finger on the shutter button to take multiple shots, when the seagulls flew in front of the sun, to maximise my chances of getting a shot I liked.
The pano function is amazing
