  • The walk to Mitchell Falls

Mitchell Falls is one of Oz's most spectacular waterfalls and part of the attraction is the 4km walking track to get there. Many things to see along the way including Merten Falls.

To get to Mitchell Falls this creek must be crossed, it's pretty easy.

But don't walk too close to the edge 'cos it's a long way down

Nice Mick. Not the red you would normally expect in the Kimberly. Can you get down the the plunge pool?

No way down Todd, it's a thousand foot straight drop.

Meant to come back to this earlier. What a beautiful place. Thanks for showing us parts of AUS many of us will never get to see

Have a great Christmas Mick and stay safe - looks like some cyclones around - guess you are used to them by now

            Cheers 🍷🍺

Mother nature sure does create some amazing scapes. How is it that the rock it worn so round?
Shots like these make me so wish I was there.
              Thanks Mick.

Crocs at the bottom too, just to give you something to think about on the way down

Cheers Alan. The Kimberley continues to amaze me and the scale of the landscape is hard to comprehend, let alone explain or capture with a camera. This place is a 1000km from Broome, pass through no towns on the way, many many gorges and rivers to see on the way. Totally unique and precious landscape.

The cyclones in the area pose no threat at the moment and are not expected to cause much more than flooding. Receiving some wonderful rain at the moment with the promise of plenty more to come. Gorgeous. Love a good wet season

                All the best good sir.

                Thanks Mick.
Thanks Jo. One of the reasons I post these images is to tempt folks to spend some time here. It's remote, a 4wd is compulsory to see most of it but many come here and find they cannot leave.
