Went back to Black Rocks campground in Bundjalung National Park as the start of a last trip before the school holidays started. After I booked, we found it clashed with my wife's tennis breakup lunch so we ended up only having one night. This was the crowd on the beach - it's very peaceful, outside holiday periods at least.

There's not much to this shot but I like the peaceful look

Love this Alan, (no surprise there as I live on the beach)

'Peaceful', as you say. The muted tones really add to the mood.

I wanted to try a crop to see if it assisted the composition - and then I kept fiddling with it, hope you don't mind. I only do it with images I admire.

Some layer, blur and dodge work.

    Cheers

Thanks Alan, your treatment works very well. I tend to be quite conservative with processing, having seen some horrible results, although I do play with an image occasionally. Removing some of the foreground certainly improves the composition and the softness enhances the mood.

was gonna suggest a crop like alans, but he beat me to it. the extra foreground contributes little to the overall image. so the crop lifts the shot imho

I think the crop brings attention to the main focal point, the fisherman. Just a bit too far back and small in the original.

Lovely image that certainly speaks of peace and serenity.
