Love the composition Paul .... would love to hear the stories from inside the walls of days gone by.

      Nice find Paul.
Agree with Sully, the trees frame the cottage making a nice composition.
Are you using a graduated filter?

Agree, nice framing and stormy light - but I think I'd like to see more of the dark, forbidding sky than all that grass. It would maybe emphasise how it effects the total scene?

Hmm - Jo picked up on it - something going on with the tops of the trees seeming to be brighter than the bases - probably it's just how the sun was shining through the clouds.

I wonder what stories that cottage could tell - well spotted

I like the light and shadows in this pauld. You definitely have a penchant for this type of photography.

Nice shot with the light on the trees and cottage. I tend to agree with Alan in liking to see more of the sky.

                Hi Paul
Perfect time for pictures I would like to see a bit more drama in the sky. But I don't know if my post editing skills would be up to the task.

umm, I actually prefer the drama and colour in this unedited version, (I now understand the light - it's always about the light ) Well spotted.

But would still like to see more sky and less grass - the tree touching the top of the frame concerns me a bit.

                    Love that light though

I had to have a dabble after Alan noted his concern over the tree tops at the top. I added a bit more sky and used a layer mask to alter the sky colour a little. I love the original photo best.
I hope you don't mind the edit.

The intention when taking the shot was to convey as posted "the lonely Cottage" If I had taken more sky or zoomed into the cottage it would not be a Lonely cottage but a cottage dominated by sky and framed by trees. I welcome the critique we all learn by taking ideas from others, we could always have done it differently and that is what makes photography great.

                        Paul.

I love this shot. But it needs a bit of editing to bring out the best. I had a quick go.

You have a couple of dust bunnies in the sky. I left them there for you to see.

My indecision is final, I think.
