  • Sink Hole at Trowutta Arch

    A relatively recent discovery in thick native Tasmanian forest, this limestone area features several sink holes, caves and natural archways.

    How exciting would it be to stumble across something like this.

    Looks like it has lots of photographic potential. Lighting looks a bit challenging.

        Yes the lighting is always challenging in the Tasmanian bush. Sunny days are pretty much a waste of time for wide angle photography but ok for macro of course. With waterfalls and among the trees there's just too much variation and glare. Luckily in the far north west you are more likely to get cloudy or rainy days as this is what makes the bush so lush in the first place.

        The day I Photographed the Arch it was drizzling most of the time.
