My Creek 2

We have had 250mm of rain so far this month, the creek has a better flow now. It could still do with another good flush to get rid of the dead branches and palm fronds.
February and March are traditionally our 2 wettest months, so hopefully we will get our 1.5 meter average rainfall for these 2 months and things will be all good

I have spotted a couple of Platypus swimming in the deeper holes, hopefully preparing their nests.

It literally is at my backdoor, the furthest bit of water in #2, I can stand on my verandah and look down into that pool

Good photos Ironwood. Humour me here, but as you live so close to this now fast flowing river, I'd like to see a few pics of fast shutter speed to freeze the water flow - if it's not too much trouble, preferably with a CPL, which would also help in capturing some nice shots of the platypus.

@Isac , these may not be the fast shutter speed you wanted, but they were the best I could do under the circumstances. I think they were 1/60th, it was about 5.45 this afternoon and the sun had gone down behind the trees.
I don't have a cpl filter for this lens.

These first 2 are looking to the east, there was a big white cloud hanging behind and above the trees reflecting the sun, which is why the sky looks blown out.

Thanks for going to the trouble Ironwood. My personal preference is the faster shutter as it's actually what we see and adds more feel to the image. I'm not a huge fan of the milky water effect, but I know a lot of togs do love it. The opinions from other members about fast and slow shutter speeds for flowing water shots, should create quite a lot of discussion I reckon. Good work.

Cheers Isac. I was hoping to get a bit faster shutter today, but by the time I got down there it was quite shaded. The light is nicer at this time of day, than when the sun is higher and beaming through the gaps in the trees, so it's all a trade off I'm afraid.
