No nit pick here Jo. Normally I'd say lighten it up a bit and bring up the shadows a tad, but the darkness is actually setting the mood that you would expect in that sort of scene. Well done. BTW, where is it?

Thanks for that Jo. I still have no intention of trudging 9km to take photos - although the type of bird sitting on a rock, may be a motivational factor.

Nice tones and an inviting scene Jo. I can imagine walking in and up those stairs. Rainforests can be tricky to get good shots to reflect the beauty we saw, but this scene is very well done. We don't have waterfalls locally either.

Thank you PP, I am glad I am not alone in the waterfall pain, small comfort that is to either of us.

I see a path like this and I have to go up it...same with hills..I have to see over them..and if there's another hill after that one then I have to go over that as well. No one wants to walk with me anymore.

I won't even begin with bending things. What can I say.... it keeps me fit!

Really beautiful Jo. Love the light and curve of the steps and all the fallen leaves. Your soft treatment suits the scene and mood I think

I meant to come back to this one to suggest that a vertical crop might work as well? I felt the bright green leaves on the left foreground competed for attention with the stairs - but I'm not sure now

I had a play/crop in PS to feature the stairs more, but I may have lost it now.

I've thought of entering an SW Australian Summer scene in one of those "winter" comps overseas. The leaves are so 'autumnal' in colour.
I also thought the same as you with both ideas. The bright green leaves were even brighter. I was shooting for birds and had left centre weighted on. Have toned them down a smidge, I have noticed that when I fiddle with images others notice what I can't see. Reckon it's my piddly monitor so try to keep everything to a minimum. The thing about these stairs, was that it was at mid-day. Sun streaming straight down lit the stairs! Who'd have thunk!
Would love to see your take if you ever find it.
