  • Bushfires and sunsets

14 images taken in portrait and processed using the freeware Microsoft Ice. A little bit of light painting on the left hand trees other wise very little processing.
This was the view looking South East towards the fires. The low dark "cloud" on the horizon is actually smoke.

I was looking after grand daughter so couldn't stay, but went back at midnight and took some very eerie hellish looking shots at midnight. Will post them in here later.

Very special looking images Jo, nicely done.
I am glad you are far enough away from the fires, it sounds terrible in the News.
    Cheers, Brad.

Thanks Ironwood, it is every bit as terrible as it sounds.

Beautiful images Jo. My family originally had dairy farms in Yarloop - now a lot of it has perished, including the old buildings in the town. I bet people down there could use some ICE right now.

Yes!!! And the poor animals! At least the people got out of there. It's just a nightmare. We have a young lady and her pets staying with us who had to run. Left the chickens behind.. just too sad to think about.

Stunning images Jo. The panos have beautiful colours and I particularly like #1 with that rocky foreground. Your 'hell' shots are aptly named and I do like the third of these with those strong red tones. The result of the fires is extremely sad and must be heart wrenching for the residents firstly having to flee and then to return. There was a shot on the news last night showing a street with a line of chimneys surrounded by rubble and ash - very poignant. Hopefully the insurance companies don't quibble about payouts to all those entitled.
