Certainly different to what I'm used to seeing. First two sort of lack a focal point but still a good illustration of the landscape.

I don't recognise the spot, but I'd suggest that's where the big bush fires of 2003 went through.

Thanks Greg and Alan. Someone else mentioned it could be the Tinderry Range near Michelago and that does sound vaguely familiar.
