  • A few from the Simpson Desert after Rain

While rain was a constant problem on my trip there were occasions when it was more than welcome, none more so than in the Simpson Desert. Never knew what to expect as each dune was crossed.

A few dunes earlier after crossing a large salt lake. I camped here for a couple of days, the country is too beautiful to rush through.

These twisted trees were a feature

Thanks for adding a bit of colour

Another nice set. The clouds helped with the sunset

    What a harsh county.

      Cheers Alan.

Not many "pretty" bits in the desert landscape, hard to imagine how hot and downright dangerous the summers would be.

Back in the day I worked as a electrical linesman on the inland Pilbara power lines and temps could nudge 50C on a bad day. Sometimes hotter.

Had to wear gloves just so we could handle the tools, I was young and bulletproof back then.

Yeah, it's 4wd country all the way Anna, and the Simpson is an easy track compared to most of the others.
