  • Desert Queen Baths

Located in the remote Rudall National Park.

Hard yakka to get to this pool. It's one of five that are located in a narrow and steep gorge only accessible to those prepared to scramble over a few rocks. The kilometre long walk takes about an hour each way but well worth the effort. Thats after you cover the 500kms north east into the Little Sandy desert from the small mining town of Newman.Click image for larger version

This is pool three. Haven't processed any other images yet from this series.

All the pools are permanent waterholes in the middle of some incredibly harsh and forbidding country.

Very tranquil - certainly worth the effort by the looks of it.

Beautiful reflections. The white trunks work well against the dark red and green tones

        Cheers again Alan.

Difficult to get good images in a gorge and again I struggled here but am reasonably happy with this one. Have a few variations on the theme, some with more light hitting the trunk and stronger contrast, I walked this gorge twice it was that good.

I'll post some other interpretations later but my one month trial of photoshop has expired for now.

Thanks for that Alan. I'll be back in the game before much longer, slowly getting on top of things.

That is stunning Mick, I love the colours and those white trunks really stand out with the red rock behind, the reflections lift it another notch.
