Motovun

A small hill town in the Istrian region of Croatia. It produces wine and truffles. Apparently they use dogs to search for a recover the truffles, some of which are labradors. I'm amazed they can get to them before the labradors devour them.

Very interesting looking area. The fortifications at the top suggest something a bit special up there.. a castle or Croatian equivilant?

The old city is at the top with the wall around it and yes there is a small castle and of course a church with the bell tower you can see. Most of the older buildings are on the opposite side of the hill. Enjoyed a very tasty lunch at one of the outdoor restaurants along the wall.
