While enjoying the Western sky from the balcony, I made the most basic mistake of not turning around to see what was happening behind me.

A slow sprint to the beach with the phone meant I missed the best colours

Agree. Always loom over your shoulder when a sunset is happening because it is lighting up what is behind you. Very nice capture.

Lovely shot. Up this way I often find the pastel shades behind me are more spectacular than the sunset.
