    In Birdsville.

    What a ride thus far.

Gunbarrell Highway and Sandy Blight track plus Simpson Desert have been a blast and now I'm in Birdsville for a well earned rest.

Can share a couple of images basically SOOC raw files converted to jpeg so they might need a touch up when I get home but you'll get an idea of what I'm seeing in my travels anyway.

This is my "hello from the Gibson desert shot"....camped here for a couple of days and took lots of images of the magnificent desert oak trees you see in the background

And it rained while I was in the Simpson so had some great light to work with. The Simpson is something very special folks, get there any way you can. Spent eight days out there and am tempted to turn around and go straight back over it again, too good to only see once.

    Bloody brilliant!

#1. You poseur! And we thought you were roughing it. Sheer luxury.

#4 is my favorite. Wonderful shot.

    Charles

My indecision is final, I think.

#4 for me too but those clouds in #3 are rather special too. Yikes Mick, no tent over the stretcher would mean I'd get no sleep wondering about all the wildlife who might come to investigate during the night. Glad to see you've covered a huge distance safely and enjoying it.

Thanks Charles. I am doing it tough out here, room service is terrible, the cook is hopeless and the wine cellar is almost empty due to a whole bunch of bad planning by the management team.

Perhaps you missed the news about Harry? Pulled a few strings with my connections in Buck Palace and asked Queeny if she could suggest to Harry he organize a poodle drop for me so as to improve the quality of my landscape imagery. Harry is cruising around the outback somewhere in his chopper apparently and he thought it was a spiffingly wonderful idea and came to the party.

            More later.....

Can't see any wildlife while sleeping so I assume they are not there...works for me. Have had a few dingos drop in to say g'day but I'm too big too eat so they leave me alone...thus far.

(Queeny and I have become quite matey since my knighthood. Cheap as chips these days, knighthoods, anyone can get one )

              More later.....

Thanks for keeping in touch (glad you are somewhere to restock the cellar).

Looks like the trip of a lifetime. I doubt I'll ever experience it now, so thanks for the vicarious enjoyment through your photos.

                    G'day Mick

Great images - & glad to see you're having fun ... although it breaks my heart to see you 'suffering' so many hardships etc etc

#3 and #4 seem to be great pano material for the future

                    Phil
