  • Poodle Posing

I'd only taken my phone with me when I took Jeanie for a quick sunset walk yesterday, when this wonderful panorama presented itself.

    Then I hear..

"Take my good side" - "Is the pout riight?" - "How's the Light?" - "Hurry up we're losing it!" - "I told you we should have come earlier" - "Have you got the soft focus effect on?" - "Will it go straight to my Instagram?"

This is what I have to live with now....

She was furious that I included a sculpture of dead wood - "It's only useful for one thing", she said
"Without a poodle it would just be a photo of a pile of rubbish"

It all started when Bella put her in touch with 'Pogue'. I blame Charles of course.

Love the tones in the pano. Oh Jeanie, you're beginning to sound like an overpaid model, time for a reality check.

Jeannie, you have the patience of a saint. I don't know how you cope.

All that fuss, and both shots are complete rubbish. You are not even in the first shot, and that pile of wood in the second.......... I don't know what Alan was thinking.

All I can say is that he makes Charles look moderately competent on a good day. I'll be in touch with a few contacts for some better photographers I've worked with recently. Annie Leibovitz has a window next week, so don't delay.

And P Plates, what do you mean "reality Check?" Gggrrrrrrrr!

        Regards, Bella Macpherson-Schiffer-Campbell-Klum
        Charles

My indecision is final, I think.

Thanks Bella - I'm glad someone understands what I have to cope with.

The person I'm trying to train in model/portrait dogography seems to think that people are only interested in pictures of clouds, or someone standing on a piece of wood in the water, or a boring bird standing on a stick - a useless bird!!

To get his creative juices flowing, I've tried working my magic with a lick on the nose, or by cavorting shamelessly on the beach, but sadly, I think he has lost his mojo.

Thanks for offer of some contacts. I'm not sure how Annie's? interest in panes of glass is relevant?

Looking forward to hearing from you soon

          Regards

            Hi Bella

My friend Bella visited today and gave me some hints about how to stare wistfully into the distance.

Alan still seems to be preoccupied with sunset skies, unfortunately, so I had to take my photo-bombing chances when I could.

Do you think Annie would like to put this in her window?

            Regards

            J

btw - you'll be pleased to know that someone destroyed that pile of wood the day after the first photo was taken. (Alan seemed a bit cranky?)

Very nice Jeannie, you have the wistful look down pat and that sunset sky provides a beautiful backdrop for you and your friend.

              Damn!

I've got three cameras and a gopro, tripod, filters, a bucket full of cards, spare batteries (ten of 'em, yep, count 'em) and hard drives running out of my ears but forgot to pack a poodle.

This trip is doomed before I start.

Mick, Mick, Mick - how could you forget such a basic accessory.

Charles has tried to instill in us the principle that there are very few photos that cannot be improved by the inclusion of a poodle.

I guess you could have one air-dropped in. (don't order a black one). Or it might be possible to Photoshop some in later.

Looks like you found a hill with a signal?

Hope it's going well. Lousy weather down this way.

                Enjoy

I'm thinking a cardboard cutout might do the trick, not sure if I'd end up in trouble with the Poodle Union, will check with my legal team.

.Desert trip postponed because of rain so I'm camped up in Newman at the moment.

So, apart from the rain and the fact I'm in a CP all is going well

Might be a blessing in disguise as the chance to see the desert after rain is an opportunity not to be missed methinks..

Beautiful Poodles .. I couldn't see on in that first shot, is Jeanie there or she was just hopeful until the second shot.

Mick, I actually thought of you when I heard the Pilbara was getting some rain .. (I'm sure that's what was said) on the radio and wondered how your trip would go lol.
What is a CP ? .. and shame on you for forgetting the Poodle. You will need to find a souvenir shop or cheapo shop to get a soft toy dog .. and call it Red Dog to accompany you and take photos in all different places you visit

Thanks Anna - not sure if Jeanie is in the first photo. She could be investigating a bit of seaweed, or chasing sand flies. or barking at innocent beach walkers. She is a bit of a 'Loose Cannon'

Found an inflatable one for you Mick

'This inflatable poodle will give you lots of puppy love and is sure to brighten up even your dullest of days. The Dolly is made of a high quality PVC and has weighted feet in order to create extra stability. It is easy to wipe clean with a soft cloth and lukewarm water. Inflate using an electric or handheld pump (not included). Measures 45 x 41 inches.X'

                    http://shop.fatboyusa.com/products/dolly

Seems a bit expensive at $129, but with the mud you might encounter, the fact that it's easy clean with a soft cloth is a selling point

I'd go for the Silver. (not sure if you have an electric or hand held pump though?)

Well done Alan, I've emailed the Queen and asked if she can arrange Harry to drop me one in.
