Saw some awesome clouds behind where I shot this, but nowhere to pull over so shot this instead. Still quite a bit of roadwork going on in this area, hopefully all the plastic will be pulled down eventually.

Well composed shot Gabby with plenty to look at from foreground to distant.

Plastic is everywhere these days and while it would be good if we didn't have to look at it, it's a fact of life and in this case quite valid to include it in the shot.

What does QCL stand for.. Guess it's Queensland something or other?

Thanks Greg. The plastic is a very bright green so I just tried to desaturate it to make it less obvious, although there are still patches of the brighter shade which it didn't affect for some reason. QCL is Queensland Cement and Lime.

Love the composition. Photo has everything foreground mid ground and background interest. As well as leading lines. I think the black plastic makes the image with the factories in the background.

That's different, interesting colours in the mud flats.

I've never realized the amount of industry up your way until you've started posting all these pics,(and I visit there often enough), the Port, QAL, Power Station, Curtis Island and this Cement Plant. I'm guessing there's lots more as well...so many opportunities.

Thanks Gaz. Industry everywhere you look here. I've always meant to go and shoot Orica's flame at night but it has faded into insignifigance since the gas flame on the island started.

Plastic aside - it's a wonderful example of composition

My eye is quite happy traveling around inside the frame.

If I had to be picky I'd make it a perfect square - 1/3s work well I think.
