  • Looking into the Sun...

This was going to be another throw-away JPEG, but then I had a play in RAW and a bit with NIK, some D&B and nearly worth keeping?
Anyway, let me know what ya reckon...maybe I should push it a bit further and put it in 'Artistic Expression' ...just another thought?

I like the starburst of light through the trees and the light on the foreground. The blown out highlights behind and around the trees spoil it overall for me.

Don't mind it Gaz. Glare is what you get when you look into the sun and that's the title!

        Not too shabby at all.

Good composition, interesting subject and excellent light.

What makes it a winner for me is the light in the foreground, especially on the RHS.

Shooting into the sun is always a good idea as the outcome can be unpredictable, lots of hidden treasures to be discovered and new ways of seeing the world.

        Really like this.

          Certainly worth keeping.

Beautiful photo with lovely light. White sky doesn't worry me - you get that.

If I was going to be picky, I'd suggest that you desat what appears to be some chromatic aberration in the top left branches.

          Cheers

Thanks all, ... for those interested I'll post the original below.

No excuse, but I find it difficult toning down blown highlights so I tend to leave them in and hope like crazy that no one notices ... so far everything I've tried tends to discolour or give it a washed-out grey appearance. Also, looking at it again, seem's I've ended up with a slight pinkish tint on the LHS that I didn't notice before posting as well...ooops. "It was getting late"

Must admit I didn't notice the chromatic aberration either...Hmmm...maybe I was concentrating too hard on that RHS! One good thing though, I've discovered a simple way for me to desaturate just that area in a situation like this, "Note to self...remember it for future reference"

Once again, thanks for the input. It was an interesting exercise playing with something that I almost deleted... Cheers.
