  • Central Oz pano images

    G'day all

I've been far too busy lately with other stuff [damn] and I'm not shooting much new stuff either
But - I've wanted to do some re-editing of a series of panos from a couple of years back, when I was last in central Oz

1- The road from Alice Springs to Arltunga, a deserted old mining area. On some maps, this road is called the Lassiter Highway !!!

    exif- Panny FZ30; 1/160s x f10; 55mm [ff equiv]; iso-80; - a pano from 5 camera images

2- Last rays of sunlight onto the gums of Benstead Creek, east of Alice Springs

    exif- Panny FZ30; 1/30s x f8; 55mm [ff equiv]; iso-100; - a pano from 7 camera images

3- Trephina Gorge & rock pool, east of Alice Springs

    exif- Panny FZ30; 1/60s x f10; 55mm [ff equiv]; iso-80 .... a pano from 9 camera images

All images stitched using Pixtra software, then these have had a tiny bit of pp using PSE
and there's a few more on the Flickr site for those who enjoy pano landscapes

    As always, comments welcome
    Phil

3 excellent works of iconic Aussie scenes. #2 is very inviting with that warm light.

      Cheers.

Nice work Phil, I really like the first one. I'll be having a long hard look at the western side of the Alice in a few months time.

#1 my favourite. I've never been there, but that's what I imagine it to be like.

                G'day all

                Thanks for your votes
Yeah Mick - the western side of the Alice is very popular as the roads are easy to travel on, and there are several 'resort' places to stop at as well
These were taken on the eastern side of Alice Springs, where it's a lot less built up and much quieter

Great time of day is sunrise - here's a sunrise shot ...

Mount Sonder, about 120km westwards of the Alice, shot at sunrise

Yes, I've heard the Eastern side is the better option and I'd love to get over that way. I'll probably give the West Macs a miss as they seem incredibly touristy.

                  That's a gorgeous image btw.

#2 of the first set but all three are great shots showing the amazing colours of our outback. Love the Mt. Sonder sunrise, stunning.
