Captured this a few years ago now. I foolishly let the storm get way too close and got quite a fright when this bolt arrived on the scene. Never again!
This is a cropped image but captured at 18mm so it's almost right on top of me. Live and learn.
Now I use long lens for storms and bail out once lightning is within about 50km. Doesn't pay to push the envelope folks. (But I do like the image
