  • Victoria Falls - Zimbabwe

You will have to excuse the quality of these pictures, they were taken with my arm hanging out the window of a helicopter, 7D strapped around the wrist and my wife screaming "don't drop it" The pressure was immense!!

Anyway, what I wanted to show you was a little thing called devils pool on the Zambia side of the falls. The cut-out is just next to devils pool, and you can see the tourists walking (crawling) out to the edge.

what an awesome experience you must have had flying over those falls in a helicopter, wow! Probably even more awesome is those stupid people lol.
Those falls are immense and I like the pic you have shown to us given your trying circumstances, did you get any more?
    Thanks for showing us these.

Hahaha, that was risky business Mick!! The last time I did that it was with a P&S, and I was worried about that! What an experience to see that from above like that. It is something you will never forget!

                  Think of the noise.
It's really interesting to see such a well photographed location from a different angle.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate the comments.

The ride over the falls was awesome, and cheap!! For about $230 bucks you get a sunset cruise (drinks and food included) on the Zambezi, a 20 min helicopter ride and a walk with lions (just posted another thread on that one).

We were there for nearly four weeks, the first 2 weeks were spent volunteering working with children in settlement camps and building playground equipment, vegetable gardens and general stuff (I'll do a separate thread on that). That was without doubt the most rewarding thing I have ever done. We then went to Kruger National Park for a few days, up to Zimbabwe and then down to Cape Town before coming home.

Here are a couple more pics from the flight over Vic Falls ...
