G'day Mate
Yes - the autumn colours are starting - and you "up there" seem to have a wider selection of autumnal trees than we do "down here"
I am also taken by the building too - the roof tiles with their curved lower edges are not seen Downunder, and the wall of red brick plus the light-coloured mortar reminds me of the US Embassy in Canberra. They are so proud of the white mortar that they paint it again every 5 yrs or so!

The building style is Colonial Revival with asphalt roof tiles meant to look like slate with the scalloped edges being a common feature. The light mortar and red brick is a common feature. This building doesn't quite have the level of ornamentation that the style can have given its more utilitarian role as a office space for a few state government agencies. Colonial Revival is almost uniquely an American style that tries to pull influences from the common Georgian and Federal styles of the colonial period.
A lot of buildings in this part of the country use it, especially government buildings and schools.

Colours are wonderful and I do like the architecture. It's great to get some history about the regions where our overseas members live. TFS.I Shoot A Canon
