    Interesting but tell us more.

Last weekend, I went to Compton Abbas Airfield to see a display of older aircraft. Supposedly pre1970.

There were several oldies, but also quite a few private aeroplanes came in to join the fun.

What I discovered, was that a an aircraft owner can buy his own registration name, as you can a car. Which made for understanding who the pilot/owner was about...

Very droll, but personally, I would not want to cheapen my £150,000 hobby...He seemed quite a nice chap as well. And his co-pilot was his 16 year old son...

I didn't think that a swastika was an appropriate emblem to be displayed in these PC times, But obviously doesn't offend anyone.

It depends on where it is used. I think these old relics are acceptable, as they are historically correct. But there are groups of troublemakers who use it, for bad reasons. ....

They were flying in and out. They were not displaying in the air.

It was my 1st air photo session, so I was un sure what lenses to use. In the end, I used an 80- 300mm (2 times crop), which was good to see them landing at the end of the runway. But probably a little small for any aerial stuff...

      I'm working on it...

Brilliant Mark. We'll all be in for a treat if you keep working on your technique. No issues with the images, all nice and colourful and sharp with good POV. Just a shadows lift on #7. Just a tip, #6 needs a bit more positive space, the crop is a bit too tight top and right.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Thanks, Greg. Photographing air planes is much easier than birds. At least their path is predicable. Your points are noted...

The same airfield, owned by Guy Ritchie, the film director, is receiving Spitfires in a week or two. It is a 130-mile trip from where I live, and a night's accommodation, so will be considering another visit...Only one life...
