  • Fort Lytton National Park

    Built in 1880-1881 near the mouth of the Brisbane River to protect Brisbane it remained in use until 1945, Some historical notes.

    1. The main guns were under this bank with connecting tunnels and trenches. The river is further behind this.

    Interesting site and nice photos. The military ceratinly had a knack of picking prime real estate for their bases.

      Thanks Isac. Yes a great place to visit but probably not in the middle of a hot and humid summer day.

      Let's see them mate!
      The golden hour would produce some great shots I reckon.
      Just looking at #3 again and I would have used my real-estate technique of exposure blending to get a good expsure on the inside as well as the outside view. Perhaps 3 - 5 shots (2 stops each)

      It's only open 10am to 4pm so perhaps winter might work for golden hour..

    Should have looked at this lot first. Particularly like the background sky in #5 Very dramatic.
    Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.
