Up into the morning sky

I have been quite busy for the last couple of weeks as I have had my son from overseas and his two young boys staying with me. Also my three sons and four grandkids spent three nights camping beside a creek where there was limited mobile access.

We had hot air balloons float past on a couple of mornings. The clear sky on the first morning made it not very interesting but I thought this, on the second day, was more interesting with the rising sun lighting the clouds.

Did you give them a wave Alan? With those colours (and framing) you've got a magic shot. Even if the sky is clear, it's just a backdrop for a fabulous subject. I've seen great images of balloons in clear skies and they are great.

Thanks Isac. No I didn’t wave; they were too far away. This is with the 500mm lens and is cropped a bit

I have one of another balloon sunlit, and in a clear sky, but I don’t find it as interesting as this one. I also have a better shot of this one with the burner going. I might add them to the post.

Two more balloon shots taken on the same day at about the same time.

1. This one was lit by the sun and at a higher altitude that showed it against a clear sky



2. This also has the burner flame visible which I think makes it a little more interesting than the original in this post. It was in the shadow of a hill or clouds so the colours are duller.

Yeah, I don't mind the clear sky, it puts my focus onto the balloon. I suppose you can always give the clouds a lift in post.
