  • Bits and pieces from Melbourne CBD

I took a train ride in to Melbourne this arvo to pick up a new lens for the R6. I hung around a bit to test it out.

Good results. Bet you are pleased with this lot. Reminds me of walking around Portobello road in London with my wide angle lens and HP4 set at f16 and focused at the hyperfocal distance shooting away like with a Box Browney. Bet this will confuse a few people
Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

Thanks for the kind words Hans. Shooting with a prime lens, especially such a wide angle, really makes you think about composition more than when you have a zoom lens.

I like these John. SOOC shots? Nice colours. #2 a bit bright but a lot to contend with as far as lighting is concerned. AP or Manual?

Thanks for looking Isac. Yes, ACR adjustments only, no masking or layers were harmed during PP. Newspaper house required a lot of "geometric" manipulation. The 16mm lens is tiny, weighs only 193 grams.
All auto focus, mainly spot focus.

Thanks Isac, I ended buying the 24-240 f4.0-6.3 and the 85mm f2 macro, both lenses are IS and make use of the R6 IBIS so about 8 stops of IS. The 2 lenses came to $2300 and I had to chip in $450. Could I have sold my gear for more privately, definitely, but the hassle of dealing with tyre kickers and no shows IMHO is not worth it. If I was selling up and not getting new gear I would have definitely sold privately.
