My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Bet it never looked like that I only remember black ones.

Mine WAS a black one Hans after I painted it. Really glossy black with a white top. Hand painted with a horse-hair brush and I heated the paint so it went on really smooth, without showing brush strokes. Fully worked over engine and fully decked out with sleeper seats, a 12 volt reel-to-reel stereo tape deck sound system and plush leather seats and even had chrome headlight shades and white wall tyres! I was an apprentice auto mechanic at the time and spent hours on the car. It was the 1951 4-door Dorset UK made model and I loved it. It cost me $40 back in 1968 - about a months pay. It had a 1200cc pushrod OHV 40hp engine. It could go over 70 MPH and got about 25 MPG. It could go from zero to sixty MPH in exactly 37 seconds!
It certainly brought back some great memories - which is about all I have these days.

Good one Isac. I shared the chrome headlight shade on my Triumph motorcycle.

I don't know if they were of any use, but they looked pretty cool. Just like "Spats" if you remember them. They are sometimes referred to as Fender Skirts.
I made a set for my brother's Vauxhall Victor FB (1962) and he was very excited about how cool it looked!

Remember these? This was the Vauxhaul I mentioned (FB 1962) with spats
