  • Displaying cars differently.

Took a few shots of a local car show put on by Auto-1 out fromt of my daughters cafe in Cannington. I had a play and came up with these.
I used a couple of my freebie actions (Twirl and Zoom) to get the backgrounds. they were inspired by Alan way back.

    #1 - 1957 Chev.

I just fired myself from cleaning my house.

Interesting treatment, I rather like it. The Gemini looks a weapon. I have a mate who has one, it has a supercharged V6 Holden engine with auto box. It has been fully worked over plus a smaller pulley on the supercharger for more pressure. I drove it and it is just scary!! Fully road registered and is a real sleeper. It looks completely stock from the outside except for allow wheels and sure does give the competition a shock hahaha.

Good Work Isac. These could be straight on the wall in the man cave or the young fellas bedroom.

Fantastic effect - it's the 'Vette for me. Enjoyed the great feature on the Karrakin Centre on last week's Better Homes & Gardens.

            Cheers, Gary

Cheers Greg. I haven't been out with the camera a lot so this was something to look forward to. Weapons they were and very noisy.

Thanks Lloyd. They were all pretty mean looking machines. I think the treatment comes from just wanting to highlight the cars and give them a bit of a powerful look.

Glad you like them Todd. I haven't got a man cave as such but we do have a cocktail bar in the middle of the house - I think the head barmaid would want some convincing to have one on the wall in there

Good to see you here Gary and thanks for the comments. I drove a Corvette Stingray around in Jurien Bay for a while when I lived with a crayboat owner. I also drove The Monaro that was owned by Howie Sangster - fully worked chevvy 427 V8 that was in the London to Sydney marathon back in 1968. That had more grunt than anything imaginable and laid rubber in 3rd gear. I was also on the pit crew when they were in perth. Replaced front end, back end, windscreen and 4 new tyres and rims. About 7 minutes! It ran over a huge tree stump on the Nullabor and ripped out the bottom end, so it didn't finish.

Great to have you pop in for a visit Alan!!! I was always inspired by your good self (and a few others who have sadly decided to vacate). It was a fair while ago but it seems like yesterday. I hope you are going to stick around for a while.

Nice to see you back Alan. I've been absent too, but if you're coming back, and Mick has been around for a few days, well count me in!

These are really cool. Or is that "Kool". I wouldn't know. But they are beautiful and effective.

And congratulations on luring Alan out! Something that many have not been able to do.

Thanks for the comments Charles. I have a feeling Alan has been lurking around in the background just waiting for something to get his blood circulating again, looks like he took the bait! Have we hooked him though? Time will tell - I hope so. He's been sorely missed by us all.

Another method of displaying cars effectively is, of course, the inclusion of a poodle. Both surprised and disappointed this hasn't been mentioned already.

Latecomers to the forum be advised this is an inhouse joke. Only it's not a joke.

I give you Dusty, poodle extraordinaire!

Mick, you're right on the money here. It is well known in photography circles that the addition of a poodle will lift the most ordinary photo to the level of greatness.
