  • At the gardens

We have "Botanic Gardens" as a theme for our camera club next month. Our gardens have no pretty flowers and terrible lighting. I already had a couple I liked but went with hubby while he looked for some shots and I took this which I quite like. Damn - now I have to make a choice.

I like this Gabby .... lots of lines and patterns, but not competing against each other .... colours and light I also like ... only niggle is the foliage bottom right corner and the bright green leaf top right corner (I would just de-saturate this)

Can't think of much to add to Barb's comments. Good luck with "no pretty flowers and terrible lighting" as material for a photoshoot. lol! Sounds like a challenge.

A well composed and different photo. If you want to remove the dead vegetation at the bottom right, how would it go to just crop a bit from the bottom of the photo?

Thanks guys. Agree Mick - hasn't been my favourite challenge. Felt cropped it looked a bit cramped inapickle so have revisited it with Barb's suggestions in mind. Of course the main colour in that leaf was yellow so ended up cloning it out as desaturating just affected all the wood colours as well.
