  • HMAS Sydney & Warramunga

HMAS Warramunga (152) was berthed at Trinity Wharf here in Cairns and HMAS Sydney (03) had done a u-turn and come to dock beside her. USS Blue Ridge was up further .. I guess all were playing the war games Talisman Sabre that happens each year.

hahaha before I met hubby, you would have to lock me and my bestie up. We had quite a few good times with American sailors. One I kept in touch with for a bit and then I met hubby a few months later on Anzac Day lol.

Good set of pics, particularly like the composition of #3. So you were a man in uniform groupie Anna lol. Have you seen the ads recently for a new internet dating service for people who love men/women in uniform? Guess with so many about nowadays they had to come up with something a bit different.

I was down there with Eve as she played in the playground. We also went to the markets on the Esplanade and I bought her a frozen coke and myself a coffee kick frappe from Maccas. Was a good morning ! Didn't see any yanky sailors actually but saw and Aussie one later when we went to Cairns Central (a big shopping centre with nice shops).

Jo, I love the hills in the background, always nice to see the cane fields and the mountain range behind us .. will never get bored of it. Makes for lovely backgrounds in photos.

Sure Sure, you expect us to believe you just happened to be in the park nearby... haha

Yes, it's a popular playground. Like a wooden fort built around a huge tree. No sailors around though. Cairns is so touristy anyway, they wouldn't stand out.
