Geez, there's not too many of these left anymore Michael. That is one thing we saw quite a lot of in the States, corner stores. They call them Bodega's over there and they are everywhere. I guess when you have that sort of population you have enough customers to go round. We saw a corner store in Kingaroy when we were out there a few weeks ago and we just thought WOW, isn't that great! What used to be an everyday thing for most of us has now become a novelty. For me that is a sad thing, because these stores were more like a meeting place for the locals where you kept in touch with everybody. These days with the large shopping centres, the supermarket chains and lack of small stores you are lucky to to know your neighbours 3 doors down the road.

Never make the same mistake twice, there are so many new ones, try a different one each day

Yep you are so right, and one day it will be a great pity when these places close down.
In this little community there is a hotel and the General Store, at least thats what I could see, and basically you could survive quite easily with these two establishments, with only the odd trip into "Civilisation".

I'm lucky enough to have a small corner store just a short walk from home and agree with Lloyd they are a great social hub. Not many left now and it's a shame.

That's a nice capture Michael. The whites are a bit dull though but I reckon auto colour in levels will make it come up a treat.

I've seen a few of these around this area (Northern Rivers NSW). I like the angle you have captured this with the mango tree in the background.

Haven't been up to The Channon in awhile, like the Craft Market. Did you go to it?
