Wow - best I can utter before looking a second time ... what a difference between the two images (of what I presume is the same subject)
The first is dramatic in its blacks - and the second screams from its hi-key whiteness

Get them poster-printed and onto the wall at home .... ASAP !

Thank you for the very kind comments Phil. Yes, same subject photographed from sea level and from the cliff top lookout. I'm really enjoying my long exposure photography, unfortunately the skies have not been kind hence the B/W conversions of late.
While there is plenty of water in the lakes nearby the bird life seems to have dried up save for the occasional Pacific Black and bin chicken.

It reminded me of a picture I took at Lake Eyre where the horizon wasn't visable so I just filled your sky with a shade to match the brighter side.

I will ask the dumb question. But is that the remains of an old jetty or is it some sort of Oyster thing as I did see something sort like this where they bred Oysters.
But I have no Idea and like the 1st image overall.
