  • BW conversion - need pointers

I am trying to get a black & white version of this scene that "pops". I've tried Isac 's BW action, but can't get to pop, at least in my opinion.

Is this what you mean by POP? There's a million ways to make things pop so it's up to the individual. BUT there are some tools and methods you can use for starters.
This one I thought needed to show more details in the darker areas so I used a couple of luminosity masks to achieve that. They are great for enhancing lights and shadows.

That looks pretty good Isac, although there are a few "artifacts" around the tree and windmill. That may be because you weren't working the original file, just a small version.
The reduced shadow on the porch is perfect.

You're correct about the file size GJ. I use an action to create the luminosity masks if you want it.
