  • Monoants

Following on from Monoarachne, here are some Greenants dealing with a Beetle that I converted to B&W. I simply used a preset in NIK Silver Efex, I think it was called "antique plate".
Not sure if they should go here or the nature section

Good one Brad I use those Nik Effexor a bit myself. It doesn’t appear to matter where you put your posts, the ‘Nature’ section gets all sorts including domestic animals wearing sunglasses! As a ‘photographer’ who takes his nature photography seriously, it’s been an annoyance to me for a long time. I’ve had my say previously to no avail.

Cheers Greg. I hope we don't lose the Nik suite with the reports of DXO having troubles, I have come to depend Viveza as part of my workflow, and I nearly always use Silver Efex for B&W. The lines are loose and fuzzy between the different sections, I suppose they have to be, as it's sometimes hard to pick where to put stuff. I think these mono insect images probably are better here than the wildlife section, as I think doing this to them , crosses over into artistic territory rather than documentary, or depiction of them in their natural habitat.
      Cheers, Brad.

I downloaded Nik as seperate programs on the PC rather than accessories to PS. I don’t think they’ll stop working if the company folds.
