Lots of beautiful angles and shadows there too Very nice composition with good verticals and diagonals through the corner, lines leading to the centre of interest etc

Not sure I like the sepia treatment though - any particular reason to try to warm it up so much?

Hopefully, others will offer some other CC

Unintentional Alan I hesitate to admit, (Bumpted a button on the camera which gave me sepia instead of landscape presets).. and then after the upload I thought it looked ok!

I agree with what Alan said. Great composition

I quite like the sepia, but I found your tones a bit too purple. I had a go at a more sepia effect to my liking. Pretty similar, but more warm. What do you think?

The other thing I noticed was the focus.Where did you focus to get this shot? Looks like you focused on the planks just in front. The boat looks OOF, which I find distracting. The eye is drawn to the boat ( as it should be!) and finding it not as clear as it should be, is unfortunate. Am I being too fussy? (Say no!!) But that is what I saw, so there!!

        Charles

My indecision is final, I think.

You're absolutely right Charles I did focus short to get detail in the foreground patterns thinking that the 12mm lens would cope ok with the rest, but lesson learned there. It's a lens I don't use often being fully manual for both aperture and focus but I am slowly finding out what it can and can't do.

I put up the shot as it was a foggy morning with early morning sun lighting the mist which gave a softer feel to the scene. But I agree the boat should have been sharper.

The tone is simply a matter of taste. I don't mind it either way. It's not meant to be retro and I like your version too.
