hard stuff the work with so we have to wonder how the water can erode it
photo could do with little more contrast or dodge/burn imo

This is the original just resized. As you can see it's almost black and white to start with. I did increase contrast to my liking in the post just to bring out a little more texture in the rock.

I think your crop has removed some of the erosion I wanted to illustrate.
Don't think you've improved it and yes, it was a difficult subject but still worth showing.

I like these rocks, it's like a good cloud formation where I can make out all sorts of imaginary things from it.
Especially like the elephant.
